Hello.
I just wanted to wish you and your wonderful little family a happy new year.
You’ve never met me and have followed your inspiring blog through from you son James.
I have just had my own first son on the 25th September, and I love reading about Valor because they are at similar stages of development, except my little man is a bit smaller, but smiles (and squeals!!) just as much ๐
I just wanted to let you know you are such amazing people who have endured so much and yet continue to believe and see the good in the world! Now that I have my own family, I can feel the pain and the joys you went through… and your blogs have been a very emotional journey.
I love your wonderful photos and wish you the very best for the new year!!
Abby, John and Valor,
Happy New Year! I recently found your blogs (sweetbabyjames and this one) through Cakewrecks. I’m sorry for your suffering, but am so happy that you found joy in Valor. Catching up on James made me realize how truly precious my two sons (9 and 4) are. In my everyday life of school and preschool, I sometimes forget.
Thank you for reminding me through your blogs and your messages. God has a purpose for all of us and sometimes we don’t need to question, but rely on Him to show us the way and lead us to where we need to be.
Peace in Christ,
Jennifer
Happy New Year Gjertsens!! You guys are a hilarious and determined bunch, I pronounce you the Valedictorian of Cloth Diapering with Travel Distinction. I called up Ian at work after y’all dropped by and he couldn’t stop laughing. We love you guys!
Well that’s what I thought originally, too, since when you talk about centuries, the 21st century didn’t begin until 2001. But that’s because centuries notate the end of a period.
But decades notate the beginning, right? So the ’30s would be 1930-1939. So haven’t we started the teens, or the tens, or whatever we’ll end up calling them?
Hello there, just wanted to say hi to your wonderful family. I found this blog while trying to find ideas to do a camelot nursery just like the one you did, I love your ideas, would you mind if I copy a few? And thank you so much for writing about cloth diapers, your thoughts on the matter are a great help to me!
Happy New Year to your family, too, from snowy Chesterland, OH. Valor just gets cuter and cuter!
Such a cute New Year’s baby!

PS. Valor is even more scrumptious in person!
Okay, I’m going to be the curmudgeon who insists that the new decade won’t start until 2011…. but happy new year anyway!

Okay, fine. That makes sense. Then… happy 4th day of the new decade!
Happy New Year all along from South America!
I wish you all the best.

Sabrina from Argentina
P.S: Valor just gets more beautiful by the minute!
Wow, Valour is HUMUNGOUS! Especially for his age…I see a bit of both of you in him. Cheers to a great new year as a family!
